Methods, Motives & Minor Details

I’ve finally discovered why I fail to maintain a compelling blog. It’s something I learned during my days in creative writing workshops: Start with the conflict.

My profession is broken.

No, not the creative writing one - the urban planning one.

Maybe all professions are. This is the one I know. This is the one I love. 

  • There are things about my work that I’m passionate about.
  • There are things I’d like to see fixed. I’m passionate about those things, too.
  • There are stories worth sharing. I don’t know if that’s teaching or just sharing methods among peers, prompted or not by the ethical aspirations espoused by my professional certification institute.

With that rubric in mind, here it goes.
